`build/` only covers the directory the presets use, so `cmake -S . -B .` left
CMakeFiles/, Makefile, cmake_install.cmake and the generated include/plot/version.hpp
untracked in the repository root -- which shows up as dirty content in the parent
project's status whenever the submodule is checked out.

# An *in-tree* configure writes these beside the sources. `build/` above only covers the
# directory the presets use, and `cmake -S . -B .` leaves the whole of CMake's output in the
# repository root -- which then reads as an untracked submodule to whoever has it checked out.
